Jeff Hardy's Name Added to UK Tour Lineup

Jeff Hardy's Name Added to UK Tour Lineup

WWE added Jeff Hardy's name to the list of wrestlers on the UK Tour earlier today. Hardy's name was absent from the list of wrestlers on tour for the past couple of weeks, but lately he was added behind Undertaker and CM Punk. Edge was removed from the list which indicates this is an updated version of the list. Its possible Hardy signed a long-term contract or short-term extension.

Hardy / Mysterio Wins Via DQ on Friday Night Smackdown

WWE Smackdown
July 17, 2009
Miami, FL
Report by: Mike Tedesco of WrestleView.com

The Smackdown video plays and we’re brought into the arena with a great pyro display. Jim Ross and Todd Grisham welcome us to the show and announce our Main Event will be Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio taking on Chris Jericho and Dolph Ziggler. Also we’ll have an exclusive interview with Edge.

Jeff Hardy’s music hits and the crowd come to their feet cheering. It’s a shame he’s leaving soon because he is super over. Hardy gets in the ring and grabs a microphone. Hardy says last week CM Punk came on this show and made a shocking revelation. We now see footage of CM Punk from last week telling Hardy that he’s had zero strikes, zero suspensions, and zero trips to rehab. Punk then tells Hardy his chances of beating him at Night of Champions is also zero.

Hardy says CM Punk doesn’t get it. Hardy says Punk brings up Hardy’s mistakes like he’s trying to hide behind something. Hardy says he wants to straighten something out – everyone makes mistakes. He’s made mistakes and has been suspended twice. Hardy says he hasn’t failed a test in over a year and he has never been to rehab – he’s always healed himself. At Night of Champions he will beat CM Punk.

CM Punk’s music hits and the World Heavyweight Champion makes his way to the ring. It looks like his eye has finally healed. Punk gets in the ring and apologizes, saying he’s a little taken back right now. Punk asks if this is what it has come to – people cheering because he hasn’t failed a drug test in a year. Punk says this is not an accomplishment and the fans are chanting to him that he sucks. Punk says maybe it’s an accomplishment to him that he hasn’t failed a drug test in 365 days. Punk says he should start writing his Hall of Fame speech now.

Hardy says he hopes Punk came out for something else because he’s tired of hearing the same thing week after week. Punk says it’s the same thing week after week because Hardy doesn’t listen and never has. Punk reminds Hardy that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Punk asks if Hardy remembers that from school and then says probably not because he was a screw-up then, too. Punk asks how many tests he failed and classes he skipped. Punk asks how many times he was expelled. Hardy asks if Punk is trying to be his guidance councilor. Punk says maybe Hardy should wish he was because he would have set him straight. Hardy would never have drank, smoked, or been on the path he is on now. Punk tells Hardy to look at himself and realize he’s a joke. Hardy comes out and brags that he’s been suspended twice before bragging that he’s never been to rehab. Punk asks Hardy who he thinks he is.

Hardy says he’s the next World Heavyweight Champion. Punk says Hardy is a dreamer and that a guy like him could never beat him. Punk says he’s straight-edge. Alcohol has never touched his lips. Punk has never smoked and he doesn’t do drugs. Punk says a year from now he’ll still be champion while Hardy will fall back into the same vicious cycle. Hardy will lose to him and he’ll fall back into his vices. Punk repeats that over and over. Hardy says he guesses he’s not as perfect as Punk. Punk says maybe he should be perfect because there’s a sea of kids wearing Jeff Hardy t-shirts and that scares him because Hardy is his hero. That means there are millions of kids out there that are just going to see their hero become just a statistic.

Hardy has had enough and pushes Punk right out of the ring by the face. Punk gets up angrily and says he’s going to be the bigger man because he has a match next. However nothing is going to stop him from tearing Hardy apart at Night of Champions. Punk then goes to sit by Justin Roberts as the crowd chants for Hardy.

Mysterio then springboards off the first rope and hits a head-scissors, driving Ziggler shoulder first into the ring post. The crowd is molten, shaking the cameras as they stomp! Both men make the tags!

Hardy clotheslines Jericho down twice, hits an inverted atomic drop, and leg drops his midsection. Hardy kicks him in the face and covers for a near fall. Jericho counters a whip to the corner and goes for a face buster but Hardy ducks that and hits Whisper in the Wind for a near fall! This crowd is on fire. This crowd is going nuts as he covers and it’s broken up by Dolph Ziggler!

Mysterio runs in and dropkicks Ziggler down. Hardy follows Jericho to the outside and Hardy throws Jericho into CM Punk! CM Punk is angry and he throws Chris Jericho into Jeff Hardy, sending Jeff Hardy face first into the ring steps! Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio are disqualified!

Winners by Disqualification: Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler

Rey Mysterio gets in CM Punk’s face and Dolph Ziggler blindsides him with a baseball slide. Ziggler then hits his finisher, a Jumping Russian Leg Sweep, on the outside! That’s a nasty bump! Hardy's Defeat Against Kane Caused by CM Punk

Hardy's Defeat Against Kane Caused by CM Punk

WWE Smackdown
July 10, 2009
Bakersfield, CA
Report by: Mike Tedesco of WrestleView.com

The Smackdown video plays and we’re brought into the arena with a great pyro display. Jim Ross and Todd Grisham welcome us to the show. Our Main Event tonight will be Rey Mysterio defending the Intercontinental Championship against Chris Jericho, who is invoking his rematch clause.

Jeff Hardy makes his way to the ring with a giant eye patch over his right eye. Hardy gets in the ring and grabs a microphone. Hardy says last week in the middle of a tag team match with CM Punk, tragedy struck. We now catch the recap of what happened on the last edition of Smackdown. They were facing Edge and Jericho. Hardy was in there for a while and went for the tag numerous times but CM Punk was distracted by his injured eye and missed the tag. Hardy eventually fights them off and forces Punk to make the tag. Punk does a good job fighting them off but eventually needs to make a tag but all of a sudden Hardy’s eye is injured and he can’t make the tag. Edge Spears CM Punk and takes the win.

Hardy claims he didn’t know what happened except his eye was on fire. Hardy says after the match CM Punk didn’t take the time to find him and see if he’s ok. Hardy says it’s almost as if Punk believes Hardy is making the injury up. Unlike CM Punk Hardy does not make up injuries, kick referees in the back, or forfeit matches. Hardy says to believe what he says (he removes the patch, showing a healthy eye) that his eye injury is just as serious as Punk’s.

Kane’s music hits and he’ll be going one on one with Jeff Hardy.

Jeff Hardy vs. Kane

The match begins and Hardy claps to get the crowd into it. Hardy quickly tries to stun Kane with some punches but he just pushes him away. Hardy ducks a clothesline and punches Kane some more but Kane simply pushes him away again. Kane charges into Hardy’s boots and angrily charges again but Hardy pulls the top rope down and Kane flies over. Hardy hits a slingshot baseball slide before taking him down with a nice plancha. Hardy clubs Kane some more before being pushed away.

Kane gets back in the ring and Hardy follows. Kane picks him up for a slam but Hardy slides off his shoulder and hits a clothesline but it doesn’t budge Kane. Hardy goes into the ropes and right into an uppercut from Kane for a near fall. Kane hits a punch and a kick before ominously walking around. Hardy then snaps up and goes for the Twist of Fate but Kane pushes him into the ropes and hits a kick to the midsection. Kane then hits a front suplex onto the top rope, hanging Hardy up there. Kane then big boots him off the rope and we’ll take a commercial right here.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Hardy on the second rope with Kane choking him. Kane releases the hold and hits a snapmare. Kane goes into the ropes and hits a nice low dropkick to the face for a near fall. Kane locks a grounded waist lock on now. Hardy fights up and elbows out. Hardy hits a sit-out jawbreaker and a dropkick to the knee, taking Kane down. Hardy hits a low dropkick to the face for a near fall of his own. Hardy hits a double leg drop to the midsection but this only gets him a one count.

Hardy hits some punches and goes for a whip but Kane twists him. Kane gets Hardy on his shoulders and hits a nice gut buster. Kane pins him for a near fall. Kane throws Hardy under the bottom turnbuckle spine first into the ring post. Kane then hits a baseball slide on Hardy right into that ring post again! This will get Kane a near fall. That was a nasty exchange. Kane bounces Hardy off the top turnbuckle and strikes him a few times in the corner before Hardy collapses. Kane gets Hardy up and hits a backbreaker for a near fall. Kane now locks on a body scissors, the first time I think I’ve ever seen him do that. JR fills us in that in the early 1900s, wrestlers would train to use the body scissors on bags of wheat. Thank god for JR.

Hardy punches Kane in the knee and gets out of that. Hardy hits his flipping mule kick but that doesn’t take Kane down. Hardy goes into the ropes but Kane simply takes him down with a sidewalk slam for a near fall. Kane climbs to the top rope and Hardy cuts him off. Hardy climbs up there too and attempts a superplex but Kane pushes him off. Kane goes for his clothesline but Hardy crotches him up there. Hardy hits his slingshot dropkick and gets Kane on his knees. Hardy hits a DDT for a near fall. Kane is up in the corner so Hardy charges him and Kane back body drops him to the apron. Hardy comes off the top rope and Kane grabs him by the throat. Kane goes for a Chokeslam but Hardy lands on his feet and runs up the corner for a nasty Whisper in the Wind, which gets him a close near fall.

Hardy drops Kane with a Twist of Fate and takes his shirt off. Hardy goes up top and all of a sudden CM Punk’s music hits. CM Punk makes his way out to the stage squinting and all of a sudden Kane grabs Hardy by the throat and he Chokeslams him off the top rope for the win!

Winner by Pinfall: Kane

Jeff Hardy on His Current WWE Status

Jeff Hardy was interviewed on Spain's Four Network to promote the WWE shows over there in September. He confirmed that he hasn't signed a contract extension and when asked if he would, he said: "I don't know... I am 31-years-old now, and I don't like making plans for the future. I can wrestle until I am 40, but I don't want to make plans, I don't like thinking about what could happen between now and the next five years." On his health after a recent string of brutal matches, he said: "My shoulder is fine, but his finger still hurts. I am a lucky guy, I have good bones, it helps that the injuries are not serious." He said his best friends in the locker room were Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho, and said if he could wrestle anyone he wants at Wrestlemania it would be Shawn Michaels. "He [Michaels] has inspired me a lot throughout the years and has proven to be one of the best wrestlers there is; for his technique, style, things he does. I take my hat off to him. He is the one who inspires me."

CM Punk Still "Pain in the Eye" for Jeff Hardy

WWE Smackdown
July 3, 2009
Fresno, CA
Report by: Mike Tedesco of WrestleView.com

start of show

CM Punk makes his way to the ring to a not so friendly reaction. Punk gets in the ring with a microphone. Punk says everyone is talking about the big controversy stemming from the Bash and, to be honest, he’s getting a little sick and tired of that. Punk says he’s sick and tired of people saying he purposely struck an official to take a cheap way out and retain his title by disqualification. Punk says he’s come out here to show us step by step what really happened. First, the allegation that Jeff Hardy won the World Heavyweight Championship but was somehow robbed.

We see the part of the match where Jeff Hardy hit the Swanton Bomb and gets the cover but Punk clearly had his foot under the rope, out of bounds. Punk says the referee is only human and saw he made a mistake. Punk says where he comes from, the rules still mean something. The funny thing in all of this is that he was the one who was almost robbed. If the referee didn’t see his foot then he wouldn’t be champion. Things would get worse as he suffered an eye injury.

We now see the part of the match where Jeff Hardy goes for the Twist of Fate but Punk twists out of it and gets him in position for the GTS. Hardy elbows out and in the process somehow injures CM Punk’s eye. Punk holds his eye and then kicks the referee in the back, causing the disqualification. Punk says clear as day it’s pretty obvious he couldn’t see. His vision was obstructed as his eye was damaged. Punk says he thought he was swinging at Jeff but hit the referee instead accidentally. Punk says he prides himself on being a competitor and is a man of honor. Punk says he’s never taken the cheap way out nor has he ever taken a shortcut inside or outside the ring. Hardy had every reason for being frustrated; they were having a classic championship match, he thought he was on his way to becoming champion, but nothing, and he means nothing, excuses what he did to him next.

They now show the end of the match where Hardy confronted Punk about kicking the referee on purpose before snapping and destroying CM Punk with punches. Punk just rolls around and holds his eye while Hardy is pulled away. Back in live action Punk is shaking his head. Punk says Jeff Hardy has no idea who he is as a person. If he did he would know that he has principles and integrity – he never has and never will take a shortcut. What Hardy did to him was obviously deliberate. Now, as Punk understands, Hardy is going around telling anyone who will listen that he wants a rematch from Punk. Punk says that’s fine by him but he wants something from Jeff Hardy – an apology. The crowd boos.

General Manager Theodore R. Long’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring smiling. He’s happy for a guy who is on probation. Long says he’s going to get right to the point. Long says he doesn’t know if he took the cheap way out, and Punk goes to interrupt him, and says not to cut him off. Long says Punk was right – he and Jeff were having a classic match so he won’t let it end like that. At Night of Champions he will face Jeff Hardy once again for the World Heavyweight Championship!

Punk says that’s “super” but what he needs Long to do is get Hardy out here and apologize. Long says he doesn’t have to do anything. Mr. McMahon was happy with the way he shook things up at the Bash and he made it clear to him to keep it going. Mr. McMahon wants controversy to shake things up so tonight the new Unified Tag Team Champions will take on the team of Jeff Hardy and CM Punk!

Jeff Hardy’s music hits and he comes out to a great reception. Hardy gets in the ring and gets in Punk’s face. Hardy says he doesn’t want to hear Punk’s excuses anymore. Punk knew Hardy had him beat at the Bash and he knew exactly what he was doing when he kicked the referee. Hardy asks if being straight edge means being a liar. Whether Punk knows it or not he can see right through him. Punk says unless the next words out of his mouth are “I am sorry” he can shut up because he doesn’t care about what he has to say. Hardy says he’ll apologize for beating the holy hell out of him at Night of Champions and he pushes Punk! Punk pushes back and Teddy Long separates the two!

Punk says it’s cool but tonight they need to be on the same page or Jericho and Edge will tear them apart. They’re already at a disadvantage due to his eye injury and the crowd boos. Punk says he had to forfeit a match on Superstars, something he didn’t want to do. Punk says he’s not forfeiting anything tonight but if he can give Hardy a piece of advice, because he knows that Hardy wants to punch him in the face, his piece of advice is something Hardy should have done a long time ago – “Just say no!” Punk leaves the ring as we ponder what he really meant by “Just say no.”

Edge & Chris Jericho vs. Jeff Hardy & CM Punk

It’ll be CM Punk starting out against Edge. They circle the ring before locking up. Edge wrenches the arm and drops CM Punk to a knee. Edge wrenches it again before CM Punk rolls out, slaps the hand, and dropkicks Edge. CM Punk wrenches the arm and tags in Jeff Hardy. Hardy comes off the second rope with a forearm to the shoulder. Hardy punches and kicks Edge in the corner before sending him sternum first into the opposite corner. Hardy covers but Edge quickly gets a foot on the rope. Hardy bounces Edge’s head off the turnbuckle, wrenches his arm, and tags in CM Punk.

Punk comes off the top rope with a club to the arm. Punk wrenches the arm before kicking Edge in the chest twice. Punk then takes Edge down with an arm bar. Edge fights up and forearms Punk before making the tag to Jericho. Jericho runs into an arm drag takedown. Punk wrenches the arm and body slams Jericho down. It looks like Jericho jammed his knee a bit on that. Punk makes the tag to Jeff Hardy, who hits a leg drop on Jericho off the second rope, for a two count. Jericho hits Hardy with some punches and kicks while talking trash, of course. Jericho has a whip reversed on him but Hardy lowers his head and Jericho kicks him in the face. Jericho goes back into the ropes and Hardy hits him with an inverted atomic drop followed by a double leg drop to the midsection. Hardy wrenches the arm and tags in CM Punk.

Punk kicks Jericho’s arm before wrenching and hitting a snapmare for a one count. Punk gets an arm bar on before Jericho pushes him to the ropes. Jericho gets a headlock on and tags in Edge. Edge kicks Punk in the ribs and Jericho punches Punk before leaving the ring. Edge head-butts Punk but has a whip reversed on him and Punk hits a back heel kick. Punk tags in Hardy and sends Edge to the corner. They then hit Poetry in Motion, which also catches Jericho, who came over to help. Hardy and Punk look at each other as we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Jeff Hardy and Edge squaring off. Hardy walks right into a kick in the midsection and Edge punches him a few times. Edge punches Hardy before whipping him into the corner but Hardy slingshots over him and hits an arm drag followed by an arm bar. On the apron CM Punk is holding his eye. Hardy wrenches Edge’s arm and goes for a tag but Punk refuses, claiming his eye is hurting. Hardy hits Edge down for a one count. Hardy hits a nice suplex before getting a nice jackknife pin for a two count. Hardy punches Edge to the corner and whips him to the opposite. Hardy backs up and charges but Edge moves and tags in Chris Jericho.

Jericho comes in and hits a low dropkick before talking some trash. Jericho drops a pair of elbows before punching him. Jericho yells at Punk and causes a referee distraction. Jericho throws Hardy out of the ring and distracts the referee while Edge punches him into the barricade on the outside. Jericho goes outside and retrieves Hardy, throwing him back in the ring. Jericho cuts Hardy off before he makes the tag but he wouldn’t have made it as Punk is concentrating on his eye. Jericho taunts the crowd before locking on a chicken wing submission. Hardy fights up and punches out. Jericho reverses a whip to the corner so Hardy attempts to slingshot over but Jericho catches him and throws him over the top rope. Jericho taunts the crowd again as the referee begins counting Hardy out. Punk is attentive now and willing Hardy on. Jericho goes outside to get Hardy but Hardy runs in and attempts to tag in CM Punk but Punk’s eye is hurting again!

Hardy punches away at Jericho and has a whip reversed on him to the corner but Hardy counters with Whisper in the Wind! Both men are down and Jericho makes the tag first. Edge cuts Hardy off and goes for the Edgecution but Hardy counters into the Twist of Fate and forcibly tags in CM Punk! Punk comes in and hits a high knee into a bulldog for a two count. Punk goes for the GTS but Edge counters into the Edge-O-Matic and appears to have raked the eye on the way down. This gets Edge a two count. Edge taunts the crowd and drops a knee into Punk’s ribs. Edge forearms Punk and kicks him down in the corner before being admonished by the referee. Jericho chokes Punk as the referee is distracted. Edge now tags in Jericho.

Jericho comes in and hits a kick to the ribs. Jericho then pokes CM Punk in his good eye before being admonished. Jericho talks some trash before getting punched by Punk. Punk and Jericho have a bit of a misstep as they whip into the corner but the pros make the save with a double clothesline. Both men are down and crawling to make the tag. Just as Punk goes to tag in Hardy, Hardy feigns an eye injury! Jericho rolls Punk up for a near fall. Jericho then attempts to lock on the Wall of Jericho but Punk kicks him away. Punk gets Jericho on his shoulders but loses his footing and Edge tags in. Punk hits the GTS on Jericho but turns right into a Spear from Edge! The Unified Tag Team Champions get the win!

Winners by Pinfall: Edge & Chris Jericho

Jeff Hardy Defeats Chris Jericho via Count Out on Smackdown

WWE Smackdown
June 19, 2009
Roanoke, VA
Report by: Mike Tedesco of WrestleView.com

Start of the Show

Josh Matthews is in the ring. Matthews mentions that on Raw Smackdown’s General Manager Theodore Long announced a championship match. CM Punk will take on former World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy. Jeff Hardy comes out to a tremendous pop. Todd Grisham correctly calls something, mentioning there are loud ovations and then there are Jeff Hardy ovations.

Jeff Hardy gets in the ring and Matthews mentions that two weeks ago he reached the top again, becoming World Heavyweight Champion again despite those who said he’d never make it there again. They now show clips of the Ladder Match, including the big ladder bump on the outside and the mid-air Twist of Fate. I believe that finish to the ladder match was one of the most creative I’ve seen.

Matthews mentions it must have been an amazing moment and can’t imagine how it must’ve felt to become a World Champion. With that said he can’t imagine how he must have felt when this happened. They now show CM Punk making his way out to the ring to cash in his Money in the Bank contract. Hardy kicks out of one GTS but can’t kick out of a second one and CM Punk becomes the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Matthews now mentions to make things even worse just when it looked like he was going to become World Heavyweight Champion again, this happens. They now show the ending of the match on Raw, where Jeff Hardy looked to have it won with the Swanton Bomb only for Punk to pull him out of the ring and steal the win for himself.

Matthews mentions that it seems like he can’t get a break and that the World Heavyweight Championship seems to elude him. Gee, way to rub it in guy. Hardy mentions it’s cool and he doesn’t live in the past – he lives in and for the moment. At the Bash he has CM Punk one on one and he knows, along with each and every fan, that he will beat CM Punk. Matthews says we’ve heard Jeff’s point of view so it’s only fair we hear his opponent’s. Matthews now introduces World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, who comes out to boos.

CM Punk gets in the ring and Matthews mentions that many people feel that he took advantage of a vulnerable Jeff Hardy at Extreme Rules, and at this past Monday night’s Raw he stole another victory from Jeff Hardy. Punk says the only thing he took advantage of at Extreme Rules was an opportunity to cash in his Money in the Bank contract, which he did successfully and well within the rules. Hardy knows this, as does the fans, that no where in the contract does it say, “Under no circumstances are you to cash in on Jeff Hardy.” As far as “stealing” the match on Monday, he takes offense to that. He’s never stolen anything in his life. He didn’t ask the medical staff to come to ringside; they were just doing their job. Hardy was doing his job, and he did his job by successfully defending the World Heavyweight Championship.

Punk says that Hardy knows this as well as he does – when he’s in the ring he doesn’t need to be a guy’s best friend; he’s their competitor. Hardy says Punk is right, in the ring they’re not friends, and they couldn’t be more different. He lives his life they way he does and Punk lives his they way he does. Punk says that’s right – he lives his life the way he does, and Hardy lives his life the way he… does. Punk stretched that out – I like that! Hardy says their differences will collide at the Bash and he will take back what he earned at Extreme Rules – the World Heavyweight Championship.

Josh Matthews thanks them and asks the audience to give it up for Jeff Hardy, and they pop. Matthews asks them to give it up for CM Punk, and they boo. After the break Jeff Hardy will take on Chris Jericho.

This is a non-title match. The match starts and they circle the ring before locking up. Hardy whips him to the opposite corner and hits a clothesline there as well. Hardy goes for his slingshot dropkick but Jericho moves and Hardy hits the mat hard.

Jericho hits a nice suplex on Hardy for a near fall. Jericho gets Hardy up and Hardy hits some punches. Hardy has a whip reversed on him and Jericho slaps on an abdominal stretch. Jericho holds it on for a bit but Hardy eventually counters out with a hip toss. Hardy comes back with a spinning lariat and an inverted atomic drop. Hardy connects with a double leg drop to the midsection and a low dropkick to the face for a two count. Jericho is in the corner and Hardy runs into his boot. Jericho comes out for a clothesline but Hardy ducks it and hits Whisper in the Wind out of nowhere for a near fall.

Hardy goes for a flipping mule kick but Jericho throws him off. Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho but Hardy powers out. Hardy goes for a Twist of Fate but Jericho counters with a back suplex. Jericho goes for a Lionsault but Hardy moves. Hardy hits his sit-out front suplex and goes for the Swanton Bomb but Jericho rolls out of the ring. Hardy is still on the top rope so he flies off to the outside but Jericho side steps him and Hardy smashes his face on the barricade.

Jericho throws Hardy into the barricade a couple of times before throwing him back in the ring. All of a sudden Jericho turns around and Rey Mysterio jumps off the barricade with a hurricanrana and Jericho smashes his face into the ring post! Mysterio goes back and sits with the fans. The ref didn’t see anything as he was tending to Jeff Hardy. The referee begins counting and counts Jericho out!
