Start of Show
Justin Roberts asks us to welcome the new and only straightedge World Heavyweight Champion in history CM Punk. CM Punk’s music hits and he comes out limping, but with a smile on his face, as the audience boos. CM Punk gets in the ring and says, “I told you so!” Punk says he told us all he’d beat Jeff Hardy at Summerslam, and in case we were too intoxicated to remember, he’ll show us how he did it. We now see a great highlight video showcasing the tremendous TLC match from Sunday. What an awesome match that was.

CM Punk is shown watching the video with a smile. Punk says he’s never felt more alive in his entire life than he does in this moment. Punk’s positive none of us have ever felt this way because we take shortcuts. Punk says he feels every ache and pain of every table, ladder, and chair that Hardy TRIED to use to stop him from getting back his World Heavyweight Title. Punk says it was the most brutal match of his entire career but it’s the pain that makes him feel so alive. Of course he hasn’t taken a thing for it, unlike us and Hardy. Even with the smallest headache we reach for our medication, but not the regular strength – we double up on the extra strength. If any of us felt the way he feels physically right now, we’d be on a morphine drip. Punk mentions that maybe some of us already are. Physical pain isn’t the only trauma he felt at Summerslam. After the match he was celebrating his superiority over all of us when we were all robbed of his moment by the evil incarnate himself, the Undertaker! A video is now shown of Undertaker Chokeslamming CM Punk after the match in one of the coolest surprises I’ve seen in a long time. That was a tremendous moment. I was going crazy.

After all CM Punk has been through, tonight he’s being forced to compete in a Steel Cage Match. Punk says that’s unfair and it borderlines on conspiracy because the “higher ups” are terrified of him, just like we are. We fear what we don’t understand and we really don’t know what a straightedge world champion is. Punk says he’s a pioneer and he makes sacrifices. He is the role model we all need – he doesn’t drink, smoke, and doesn’t abuse prescription medication like Jeff Hardy. That’s proof that straightedge means he’s better than us and Jeff Hardy, and tonight he’ll prove it once again.

Jeff Hardy’s music hits and he comes out to a HUGE reception from the Phoenix crowd! Hardy gets in the ring and soaks in the cheers from the fans. Hardy says he hopes Punk has enjoyed his reign as straightedge World Heavyweight Champion because it ends tonight. Punk comes out here on his high horse of self-righteousness, preaching as if the three most important words in the English language are, “Just Say No,” when the three most important words tonight are, “Steel Cage Match.”

Punk asks what Hardy took to get the guts to come down here to the ring and face him. Punk asks if it was pain killers, just like the crowd takes. Punk asks if he takes pain killers to dull his reality but he’ll give reality to Hardy and us. Punk says he’s tired of everyone booing him and seeing young, impressionable children cheering Hardy. Punk says he’s fed up with Hardy and us. Punk says one of them doesn’t belong here anymore. Punk says Hardy likes to take risks so he gives one to him now: tonight, the loser is thrown out of WWE. Punk says that means if he loses, we all never have to listen to him come down to the ring and tell the truth. Hardy says he likes that. Punk says if Hardy loses than that means his lifestyle, skills, and drug free judgment is better than Hardy’s and it means straightedge is better than him. It’ll make everyone else realize that straightedge is the way to go because Hardy won’t be here anymore.

Hardy thinks about it for a moment as the crowd chants his name. Hardy says it’s risky, crazy, and Punk is ON! Teddy Long’s music hits and he makes the match official. The loser of tonight’s match will no longer be in WWE. The person who wins will defend the World Heavyweight Championship in about two weeks at Breaking Point, where every Main Event match is a submission match. The winner will be in a submission match at Breaking Point against the Undertaker!

Hardy sends him face first into the cage three times before hitting an inverted atomic drop for a two count! Hardy stomps Punk and has a whip to the corner reversed on him. Punk and Hardy punch it out on the top rope. Hardy attempts to escape again but Punk catches him. Punk attempts a superplex by Hardy punches him and Punk falls crotch first on the top rope. Jeff Hardy follows up with a Swanton Bomb! Hardy can’t follow up immediately but eventually makes the pin and Punk kicks out at two and seven-eighths!

Punk is now climbing slowly from the top rope and Hardy is crawling out of the door. Punk cuts Hardy off and pulls him back in. Hardy hits his mule kick and Punk is between the ropes and the cage. Hardy sandwiches him there. We’ll take our final commercial break here.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Punk halfway out of the cage door with Hardy holding him. Punk screams that he’s out but, of course, he really isn’t. This is great stuff. Hardy viciously clubs Punk and they trade punches. Hardy comes out on top and goes for the Twist of Fate. Punk shoves him off and goes for the GTS but Hardy counters into a backslide pin for a near fall! Punk hits a double under-hook backbreaker for a near fall.

Both men are extremely battered. Punk picks Hardy up and goes for the GTS but Hardy lands on his feet and hits the Twist of Fate! Hardy slowly begins making his way up the cage and is halfway out when CM Punk gets up and grabs his ankle. Hardy kicks and punches Punk away. Hardy gets over the top and dangles over the floor. Punk pulls him back in and SUPERPLEXES him off the top of the cage!! CM Punk begins making his way up the cage. Hardy cuts him off as Punk dangles over the floor. Hardy sits on top of the cage and Punk pokes him in the eyes and smashes his face off the cage! Hardy crashes and burns to the mat as CM Punk drops to the floor to win the match and retain his World Heavyweight Championship!! Jeff Hardy is out of WWE!!

Winner & STILL World Heavyweight Champion: CM Punk

CM Punk holds his World Heavyweight Championship and smiles as he waves goodbye to Jeff Hardy. The cage rises and Hardy lies in the ring as the reality of what just happened hits him. Hardy sits up in the ring and the crowd is chanting “Thank you Jeff.” Hardy gets up and applauds the crowd. Hardy grabs a microphone and says:

“First of all I’m sorry if I’ve let anyone down. I’m sorry that you’ll now be seeing CM Punk instead of me on Smackdown. But it’s been one hell of a ride, hasn’t it? I just want to thank all of you and I want to let you know that this is not goodbye forever; this is only goodbye for now. If the time is right I’m sure I’ll see you all in the future. Thank you all. Hey, but at least Matt’s back on my side. There’s still a Hardy on this show! Yours truly Jeff Hardy – ours truly this life!”

Jeff Hardy exits the ring and shakes the hands of the fans who thank him. Many people are openly weeping as Jeff Hardy makes his way up the ramp for the final time. Jeff Hardy turns and raises his hands one more time for the adoring crowd and all of a sudden CM Punk hits him in the back of the head with the World Heavyweight Championship! CM Punk stands over Jeff Hardy as the crowd boos and the show ends!

Jeff Hardy Says Goodbye, Leaves WWE

Jeff Hardy Says Goodbye, Leaves WWE

Following his SummerSlam triumph, a gloating CM Punk returned to SmackDown as the "only Straightedge Champion in WWE History." When The Charismatic Enigma interrupted his celebration, promising to end Punk’s reign in their steel cage rematch, Punk proposed the loser be thrown out of WWE. As the shocked WWE Universe stood witness, Hardy accepted the huge gamble. SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long arrived to set the stipulation in stone. He then dropped a bombshell, stating that at the brand new pay-per-view WWE Breaking Point, where every main event will be a submission match, the winner of the steel cage clash would face Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Later that night, after years of incredible feats of reckless abandon, fate finally caught up with Jeff Hardy in a moment of tragic irony. After blocking the high-flying specialist’s climb to victory, the World Heavyweight Champion superplexed him from high atop of the cage. Hardy battled back heroically, trying to prevent his adversary from getting over the cage with every fiber of his being. But a thumb to the eye by Punk sealed his fate, allowing The Straightedge Superstar to retain his title while simultaneously vanquishing the amazing Jeff Hardy from the WWE ring. After Hardy delivered a heartfelt goodbye to the WWE Universe (Video), the ruthless Punk added insult to injury, attacking the departing Superstar from behind with the World title.

More on Jeff Hardy TV Show and Upcoming Jeff Hardy DVD

WWE star Jeff Hardy has inked a deal with Fox 21 for his reality show according to Matt Hardy. Fox 21 is a subsidiary of Twentieth Century Fox.

The elder Hardy told the news to some people in attendance at a going away party for Jeff after Tuesday’s WWE Smackdown tapings. From Twitter pictures posted by Matt himself and according to reports from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE Divas Maria, Layla El and Eve Torres were among those at the party. Also in attendance was longtime Hardy friends Shannon Moore & Gregory Helms. credits: forceofwrestling.com

In a recent blog from JR, he mentioned that he and John Cena filmed a few interviews for an upcoming Jeff Hardy DVD that is supposed to come out in a month or two.

Many WWE Superstars and I did interviews Tuesday afternoon for an upcoming Jeff Hardy DVD that will be released in a few weeks. I don't know how many talents were involved but there were several. John Cena was included as he and I visited about this project Tuesday evening in Phoenix.
This would be the first DVD for Hardy without his brother. So, it is probably going to focus on his singles career more so than his tag team career.

Latest News on Jeff Hardy (SPOILER ALERT)

Latest News on Jeff Hardy (SPOILER ALERT)

As a result of last night's taping of Smackdown, Jeff Hardy lost to CM Punk who defends his Heavyweight Championship in a cage match... but with the stipulation that the loser "leaves WWE." This main event match will be aired this coming Friday night.

Jeff Hardy has been told by WWE management that the door is always open for him to return to the company. They also told him that if they could help him with any of his outside projects, such as his band Peroxwhy?gen or his potential reality show, that they would gladly work him into their "synergy".

Hardy explained that he was not leaving the company due to unhappiness. He simply wants time off of the road, so that he can do things at his own pace.

Most feel that it will be when, not if for his return. The feeling is that his departure is similar to Chris Jericho's a few years ago. Jericho left to work on acting and music projects, and then returned to the company, and with a more prominent position.

Hardy has received a ton of praise for his final months with the company. The feeling is that he helped bring CM Punk to a new level in the company, and now Punk is a legit force to go against the Undertaker, which will cement his position on the Smackdown side of things. It is thought that Hardy helped with Punk's evolution to one of, if not the top heel in the company.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship - TLC Match
Jeff Hardy (c) vs. CM Punk

Justin Roberts did ring introductions for the challenger CM Punk and champion Jeff Hardy.

The bell rings and both lock up. Punk pushes Jeff into the corner and gets in a few right hands and knees. Punk continues working over Jeff down in the corner. Punk tosses Jeff to the outside and grabs a steel chair. Punk drives it into the gut of Jeff and then cracks it over his back. Punk grabs a ladder, tosses it inside and starts climbing up. Jeff quickly gets in the ring and knocks it over with Punk falling to the mat. Punk dodges a Twist of Fate attempt, but Jeff throws him into the corner and hits his dropkick to the chest. Jeff picks up the ladder that was pushed over earlier, sets it up, starts climbing, Punk kicks it and Jeff comes falling off and into the corner. Punk attempts a GTS on Jeff, but Jeff jumps off his shoulders and pushes Punk into the ladder knocking it over. Jeff grabs a steel chair, sets it up near Punk, backs up, jumps off it, Punk catches Jeff in the corner and Punk literally throws Jeff down back first over the top of the steel chair. That looked nasty. Punk grabs the ladder and throws it over Jeff. Punk grabs the ladder and continues to throw it over the body of Jeff a few more times. Punk catches Jeff with a huge spinning heel kick. Punk tosses Jeff out of the ring, hits the ropesand takes out Jeff with a suicide dive.

Punk grabs a table and positions it closer to the ring. Punk grabs a steel chair and tries to lock Jeff's head inside. Jeff breaks free, Punk tries to hit Jeff with the chair and Jeff moves. Punk then hits the steel ring post with force. Jeff irish whips Punk into the steel ring steps. Punk counters jumping up on top of the steps, turns, jumps and Jeff nails him with a steel chair. Jeff throws Punk face first off the ring barricade, sets up the chair near Punk, backs up, jumps off and connects with a body splash into Punk up against the ring barricade. Jeff grabs another chair and throws it against the back of Punk. Jeff puts Punk on top of a table near the ring, goes up to the top turnbuckle, jumps, Punk moves and Punk crashes through the table near the edge of the entrance ramp. Punk grabs a new ladder and tosses it inside the ring. Punk sets the ladder up under the World Heavyweight Championship that is hanging above the ring. Jeff is back up, gets in the ring, pulls Punk off the ladder and then starts climbing up over Punk. Jeff touches the title a few times as he moves around on the hook. Punk has Jeff on his shoulders. Jeff counters off hitting a sunset flip powerbomb off the ladder to the ring below!

Jeff is now climbing back up the ladder slowly. Jeff gets his hands on the title when Punk pushes the ladder over and Jeff crashes in the corner and ropes. Punk grabs Jeff, puts him up on the top turnbuckle, Punk goes up with and gives Jeff a superplex off the turnbuckle onto a ladder below! Punk also hit part of the ladder as he hit the superplex on Jeff as well. Punk is back up, attempts another suplex on Jeff, but Jeff counters and hits Punk with a Twist of Fate. Jeff goes up top, attempts a Swanton Bomb, but Punk gets his knees up as Jeff is coming down. Punk leaves the ring, grabs a steel chair, locks it up in Jeff's head, tries to throw Jeff into the steel ring post, but Jeff blocks and throws Punk into the steel ring steps. Jeff grabs the chair and starts hitting Punk repeatedly with it. Hardy grabs another chair and throws it right at Punk.

Jeff moves a table near the ring apron and then grabs part of the announce table throwing the top portion at Punk. Jeff starts clearing the ECW announce table and then grabs a steel chair hitting Punk with it. Jeff sends Punk into the side of the announce table and then tosses him on top. Jeff grabs a steel chair and cracks it in the face of Punk. Hardy grabs a real tall ladder and sets it up near Punk who is on top of the ECW announce table. Jeff starts climbing up and gets to the top. Jeff poses and hits a HUGE Swanton Bomb off the top of the ladder and crashes over the body of Punk breaking the announce table in half. WWE officials and referees immediately attend to Hardy on the ground. A few replays are shown of the spot and it looks insane. EMTs are trying to put Jeff on a stretcher and put a collar around his neck. Meanwhile, Punk is sliding back into the ring and looking at the ladder. Hardy fights his way off the stretcher and removes the collar brace put around his neck. Jeff is stumbling around and eventually falls back into the ring. Punk can't believe it and starts climbing up the ladder on one leg (favoring his other). Jeff is climbing up on the other side. Jeff and Punk exchange right hands up top while reaching for the title. Punk kicks and right hands Jeff who falls off the ladder. Punk reaches up and grabs the title to get the win.

Winner & NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion: CM Punk

After the match, CM Punk clutches the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and stands over Jeff Hardy. The lights begin to slightly flicker, Punk looks up and then they go back to normal. Punk then continues to celebrate when the gong hits and the lights go out. After a few seconds, the lights come back on and Punk is still standing with the World Heavyweight Championship in the air. The only thing different is he is now standing over The Undertaker. Punk looks down, Undertaker sits up, chokes him and then hits a big chokeslam on Punk. Undertaker then gets down on one knee and poses as the blue lights fill the arena. Undertaker then heads up the ramp, clears away tables, ladders and chairs in his way, looks back and poses as fire shoots out of the stage as the PPV goes off the air.

Watch WWE Summerslam 2009 Jeff Hardy vs CM Punk TLC

Watch WWE Summerslam 2009 Jeff Hardy vs CM Punk TLC

At SummerSlam, World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy will put his title on the line against former World Champion CM Punk in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match.

The match of Extreme proportions was born out of epic circumstances. Five days after CM Punk lost his World title to Hardy at Night of Champions, he viciously attacked the war-torn Charismatic Champion on SmackDown. The following week, before the two Superstars were supposed to have their World Heavyweight Championship rematch, they attacked each other in a state of absolute bedlam. Amidst the mass hysteria, WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon emerged, declaring that he would name a “special guest enforcer” to ensure order in their championship rematch later that night.

When the special enforcer turned out to be Jeff’s estranged brother, Matt Hardy, the WWE Universe sat on the edge of their seats in disbelief, wondering how his presence would affect the outcome of the match. But none of them were prepared for what they were about to see. Shortly after getting inadvertently kicked by Punk, Matt stopped the referee from delivering the three-count on Jeff, thereby denying Punk a possible victory. As Matt confronted Punk in the ring, Jeff rolled his opponent up, leading to a surprise three-count by his older brother.

An enraged CM Punk then viciously attacked Jeff for the second week in a row. SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long responded by making the blockbuster announcement that Jeff Hardy would face CM Punk for the title at SummerSlam in the TLC Match.

Jeff Hardy is quite simply a master of the Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match. The event itself, which Hardy helped to pioneer, is tailor-made for his Extreme personality. Although some claim that he is too reckless and takes too many chances, it is his outrageous nature fused with Extreme matches like TLC that have gotten him to the top of the mountain. But, will the World Champion bring the same reckless intensity now that he has so much to lose?

CM Punk is The Straightedge Superstar with fury in his eyes, driven by an undeniable thirst to get his gold back. He has used his focus, dedication, and exceptional skill to conquer the Extreme before, winning two, back-to-back Money in the Bank Ladder Matches at WrestleMania, both of which led to World Championship reigns. The anger that he feels toward The Charismatic Champion, which has led directly to his recent acts of ruthless aggression, fully demonstrates his intention to win the title at any cost. Despite his proven skill with the ladder, how will he fair once the Extreme elements are intensified by the power of two?

Find out who will overcome the wrath of the TLC to capture the gold, Sunday, Aug. 23 at 8/7 CT, only on pay-per-view.

Summerslam 2009 World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk Not Main Event?

Summerslam 2009 World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk Not Main Event?

There is a report on Wrestleview about a possibility of the tag match between DX and the Legacy being the Main Event/Last Match this Sunday's Summerslam. This makes it different to previous PPVs wherein the last match is always a title match.

One scenario is that if they were to have CM Punk go over Jeff Hardy in the TLC match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title that they would prefer to end the show with a happy ending, which seems to suggest they could go in the direction of ending with DX vs. Legacy.

TLC SummerSlam Promo

We come back from the break and the World Heavyweight Championship is hanging high above the ring. Underneath it is a gigantic ladder and surrounding the entire ring and entrance ramp are countless tables, ladders, and chairs! That’s an awesome sight! Justin Roberts asks us to please welcome the World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy! Hardy comes out to a huge reception. This may be his last promo on Smackdown for quite sometime. Hardy comes down to the ring while walking under ladders.

Hardy has a microphone and soaks in some more cheers from the fans. Hardy says he’s been thinking a lot about what’s been going on in the WWE in the last few months, and he’s pleased to say he and his brother are at peace. The Hardys made the TLC match famous but sometimes in life it’s not fair. Sometimes you’re dealt a hand that’s really hard to play, and last week he was dealt that hand. Last week his doctors said it was probably in his best interests to not compete in any physical activity. He’s 31 years old
and their advice to him was to retire before it’s too late. Hardy says he’s never been one to follow the doctor’s orders, and he doesn’t plan on starting now!

Hardy climbs to the top of the ladder and grabs the World Heavyweight Title. It swings over his head like a pendulum, which is an awesome sight, and says to Punk that this is where it happens. There’s no time to think or plan, and the space between the top to the ladder and the ground is his. The sound of tables breaking is a sound he loves and steel chairs crashing with humanity is a song he wrote long ago, and it still rings a bell. Basically what he’s trying to say in his weird way is that it’ll take a lot more than a steel chair to stop him from g
oing to Summerslam and beating him in TLC!

CM Punk’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring. Punk says hi to Hardy and asks if he’s nervous being up there so… “high.” Especially with the condition he’s in, meaning he’s probably drunk right now, just like all the people in the arena. The people cheer and Punk says that’s something to be proud of. Punk says you’d have to be under the influence to stomach this living in the moment crap he spews. Punk asks what living in the moment has done for Hardy. Punk says all it’s gotten him is a night in the hospital all for the adulation of these people. One brief moment of attention? The crowd chants for Hardy and Punk says he doesn’t know what’s more pathetic – all these people hanging on Jeff
’s every word for another pitiful example he sets that they can lead or Hardy’s egotistical addition to their cheers, support, and adulation.

Punk tells him to listen and they believe Hardy can actually beat him at Summerslam. Hardy says he does, and Punk points out that Teddy Long does as well. Long said that TLC is Hardy’s match, and he was right. TLC is Hardy’s LAST match. Punk
says he knows what he has to accomplish to get what he wants. When he beats Hardy at Summerslam and takes back HIS World Heavyweight Title, it’ll validate everything he’s said in the past. He will prove once and for all that straightedge is the right way and that means he’s better than Hardy. Punk says he has to get rid of Hardy to teach these people the difference between right and wrong, and to teach them to just say “no.” He has to get rid of Hardy to get them to stop living in Hardy’s moment, and get them living in his reality. Punk says there’s no turning back from this point on. Hardy can talk about the space between the top of the ladder and the mat but from here on out there’s nothing left. At Summerslam he will hurt Hardy, and remove him and the stain of his bad examples from the WWE forever.

Hardy says he can’t destroy him or what he’s created over his ten years here. Kansas City isn’t going to listen to him, and the crowd cheers big time! Hardy says Punk won’t beat him at Summerslam. He’ll prove he’s better than him with his specialty of TLC. Punk says Hardy is right – he wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the fans. Hardy needs the fans to enable him and justify his reckless behavior, just like they need him to justify their smoking, drinking, and use of prescription medication. They try in vain to live vicariously through a man that through is lifestyle thinks he can fly. Hardy says he doesn’t think he can fly – his spirit knows he can!

Punk says “let’s find out,” and pushes over the ladder but Hardy lands on his feet! Hardy quickly drops Punk with a Twist of Fate and the huge ladder falls and hits him in the head on the way down! Hardy looks to have reinjured his neck as he makes his way up the ramp. There’s a great shot of Punk hanging on to the ladder looking dazed as Hardy raises his hand at the top of the ramp!

CM Punk & The Hart Dynasty vs. John Morrison & The Hardy Boyz

It should definitely be noted that the H
ardy Boyz made their way to the ring to their old music and even the old spelling of “Boyz.” That’s some nostalgia for me, my friends.

The match begins and it’ll be John Morrison starting out against Tyson Kidd. Kidd quickly gets a waist lock and takes him down with a he
adlock takeover. Morrison gets to his feet and whips him off but gets shoulder blocked down. Kidd goes over and under Morrison and kicks him in the face. Kidd hits a spin kick to the midsection and goes into the ropes only to be dropped by a one man flapjack. Morrison kips up and hits a break dance leg drop for a one count. Morrison gets a front face lock on and tags in Matt Hardy, who is seeing his first action since he was injured on an episode of Superstars a few months ago.

Matt Hardy clubs Kidd a few times before bouncing his head off the top turnbuckle. Hardy then whips Kidd hard into the opposite corner and covers for a one count. Kidd cuts him off with a knee and a club before tagging in David Hart Smith. Smith comes in with some big time punches and kicks. Smith chokes Hardy on the ropes before being backed up by the ref. Smith forearms him down before tagging in CM Punk. Punk lays in some kicks to the midsection. Punk forearms him to the corner and whips him to the opposite one. Punk goes for the high knee but Hardy moves. Hardy gets a front face lock and tags in his brother!

Jeff comes in and they double whip Punk to the corner. The Hardy Boyz then hit Poetry in Motion on CM Punk! Hardy clotheslines Punk over the top rope and the Hart Dynasty goes to check on Punk as we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Kidd whip Jeff Hardy into the ropes but Hardy holds on and Kidd misses the dropkick. Jeff makes the tag to his brother and they hit a double team German Suplex type move and Matt Hardy covers for a near fall. Hardy locks on a front face lock. Kidd fights up and backs Hardy into his own corner. Morrison gets tagged in and Morrison punches Kidd in the ribs. Morrison hits a side headlock takeover and cinches in on a headlock. Kidd fights up and Jeff Hardy gets tagged in.

Morrison hits a snapmare and Jeff Hardy stomps Kidd. Hardy hits a double leg drop to his midsection and drops him with a low dropkick to the face for a near fall. Hardy tags in his brother Matt and they double whip Kidd into the ropes, dropping him with a double back elbow. Matt Hardy covers for a one count. Hardy misses an elbow drop and Kidd quickly tags in Smith. Smith comes in with some clubs and he hits a backbreaker for a one count. Smith drops an elbow on the top of the head and locks in a chin lock. Hardy fights up and counters out with a jawbreaker.

Hardy tags in Morrison and drops Smith with a Russian Leg Sweep. Morrison hits his STANDING Shooting Star Press for a near fall broken up by CM Punk! This guy is left off of Summerslam when he’s doing moves like this?! What?! Morrison hits a stomp and goes for a running knee but Smith ducks and rolls him up for a near fall. Smith then drops Morrison with a clothesline and covers for a two count. Smith tags in SM Punk and holds Morrison open for a shoulder thrust.

Punk hits a double leg takedown and goes for a Boston crab but Morrison won’t turn. Punk grounds and pounds a bit before Morrison comes back and bounces his head off the turnbuckle. Morrison sends him sternum first into the opposite corner and goes for the Flying Chuck but Punk pushes him over the top rope! Punk distracts the referee as Smith drops Morrison with a nasty big boot on the outside! We’ll take our final commercial break here.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Morrison locked in a grounded chin lock by Kidd. Morrison fights up and elbows out. Kidd cuts him off with a knee and Morrison takes him out with a pele kick from out of nowhere! Kidd tags in Smith before Morrison can make a tag. Smith destroys Morrison with some right hands and hits a nasty suplex for a near fall. Smith hits a crossface strike before locking in a chin lock. Morrison fights up and elbows out but Smith cuts him off with a strike. Smith gets him on his shoulder but Morrison slides off and sends him sternum first into the corner. Morrison hits the Flying Chuck and they’re both down!

Smith tags in Kidd and he cuts Morrison off before he can make a tag. Morrison then kicks him off and tags in Jeff Hardy! Hardy back body drops Kidd and hits a pair of clotheslines. Hardy drops him with a sit-out front suplex and takes out both Punk and Smith. Hardy hits a reverse powerbomb and takes off his shirt. Hardy goes for the Swanton Bomb but Smith pulls Kidd out of the way just in the nick of time!

Hardy Featured in "WWE in Flight"

Orville Wright, along with his brother, Wilbur, made history in December 1903, becoming the first men in flight. Through many trials and tribulations, their history-making aerial innovations were only realized through commitment and perseverance in the face of adversity.

WWE Superstars face these same challenges each and every time they step into the ring, putting their bodies on the line for the entertainment of the WWE Universe. They run faster and fly higher than anyone thought imaginable.

In August, people across the globe will celebrate the birthday of Orville Wright. And in honor of Wright's world-changing invention, WWE.com invites you to check out the awesome photos and video montage as the Superstars take flight.

Jeff Hardy vs. The Hart Dynasty

It’ll be Tyson Kidd starting out against Jeff Hardy. Hardy goes right at him with a kick and a punch before knocking Smith down on the apron. Hardy sends Kidd to the corner and clotheslines him down. Hardy hits his slingshot dropkick but can’t follow up on anything as his injured neck prevents him. Kidd tags in David Hart Smith, who kicks him in the head. Smith hits a short-arm clothesline before kicking him in the head a few times for a near fall. Smith hits a nasty neckbreaker for a near fall. Smith elbows Hardy in the face before tagging Kidd back in. They double whip him into the ropes, hitting a double shoulder block. Kidd covers for a near fall.

Kidd locks Hardy in an intense headlock. Kidd has it locked on tight and screams like a banshee. Hardy gets up and tries to elbow out but can’t. Kidd tags in Smith and holds Hardy open to be kicked. Smith punches Hardy before hitting a snapmare and a chin lock. Hardy gets up and punches out. Smith reverses a whip so Hardy tries to counter with Whisper in the Wind but Smith crotches him on the top rope! Hardy crashes to the mat on his head and gets covered for a near fall! Smith grounds and pounds Hardy before hitting a body slam. Kidd gets tagged in and they go for a double team top rope splash but Hardy rolls out of the way.

Smith is tagged back in. Hardy ducks a clothesline and hits some punches. Smith cuts him off with a knee and sends him to the corner. Smith charges but Hardy moves and drops him with a face buster suplex. Hardy takes his shirt off and goes to the top. Hardy knocks Kidd of the apron and Smith gets him on the apron. Smith tries to suplex him back in but Hardy lands on his feet. Hardy goes for the Twist of Fate but Smith pushes him off and big boots him. Kidd is tagged in and they hit a version of the Hart Attack for the win!

Winners by Pinfall: The Hart Dynasty

CM Punk makes his way down to the ring and knees him in the head. Punk elbows Hardy a whole bunch of times in the neck before John Morrison runs down and breaks it up. Morrison takes out the Hart Dynasty as well before being taken out by a chair shot from CM Punk! Punk drags Hardy around on the outside and puts the chair around Hardy’s neck, looking to repeat what he’d done the week before. Punk is cut off by Matt Hardy, who runs down swinging! Matt Hardy and John Morrison rid the ring of the Hart Dynasty and the crowd loves Matt Hardy now.

Jeff Hardy is still injured in the corner. Matt Hardy looks over to his brother and the crowd is chanting for the Hardys. Jeff wants nothing to do with Matt until Matt helps him up. I guess he thought he was going to attack him. There appears to be a bit of reconciliation here as Jeff Hardy’s music hits.

Latest update on Jeff Hardy and WWE

Latest update on Jeff Hardy and WWE

WWE creative was recently told to consider something for current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy in September and that he could possibly be booked past SummerSlam reports The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

There are many conflicting stories making the rounds within WWE regarding Hardy's status with the company. One source said people close to Hardy stated he would be finishing up at the end of August and that he was "counting down the days" until he was done, while another source said creative was told to think of some ideas for Hardy in September.

Hardy was originally going to finish after SummerSlam so it appears they have may struck a new deal or convinced him to stay longer than planned. There have been rumblings that Hardy has talked with friends about doing an MTV reality show and that Hardy may not want any involvement from WWE in the project despite the company showing interest in helping out. It should also be noted that Hardy's name has remained in WWE advertising all the way into early October, although many of those ads are sent out well in advance so that might mean anything at this point.

Start of Show
A video recapped the end of last week’s Smackdown. When it got to CMP Punk’s entrance, it cut to the “live” arena and Punk made his entrance. He got in the ring and cut a promo on what happened. He said he tried to empathize with “your vices.” He said all he did was make Jeff more popular. He said he would still try to each everyone their wrongs. He said he knew it would be tough, but he would face it like a man, like he did last week. He played a video that showed his beat down of Jeff.

He said the Jeff and the fans were alike. No one had the strength to be straight edge. He said Jeff’s way was for the weak. The crowd booed and Punk said the truth hurts. Punk put over his lifestyle as the smart, strong, and right way. He pointed out that pot is illegal and said that made the majority of the people there were criminals. He said he now understood why the fans loved Jeff and he loved them, because they were all weak. He said they needed a leader and he was there to be that leader, a straight edge World Heavyweight Champion.

Tony Chimmel got in the ring and announced the match as the world title match. He introduced CM Punk. The crowd chanted Hardy and he came out to a GIANT pop. I’m talking Austin/Rock type heat. Holy crap. Hardy got to the ring and attacked Punk before the bell could ring. Referees ran out and broke them up. Teddy Long got in the ring.

Suddenly, Vince McMahon’s music hit and he came to the stage. He said since Teddy couldn’t control things, he would. He said he was going to announce a special guest enforcer. Vince said he was going to make everybody wait to find out. Hardy broke free and attacked Punk again until they were separated again. They stared each other down into the break…

Main Event

Collar and elbow tie up led to Punk throwing punches. Jeff took control and hit his double leg drop for two. He teased Twist of Fate, but Punk pushed off. Hardy hit a clothesline, sending him to the floor. He went to the apron, but Punk drug him to the floor. They both recovered while Matt watched on into the break…[C]

Back at 5:09, Punk stomped Hardy and covered for two. Punk hit three whips into knees and locked in an abdominal stretch. Punk broke the hold and strong whipped Jeff to the corner and covered for two. He whipped Hardy to the corner again, but he ran up and hit Whisper in the Wind for two. Hardy hit the mule kick for two. Hardy went to the top, but Punk caught him up top and hit a superplex for a near fall.

[Q8]Punk stalked Hardy. He hit several kicks and strikes. He lifted Hardy for GTS. Hardy escaped and tried Twisty of Fate, but Punk rolled up for two. Hardy’s kick out sent Punk to the floor and he followed with a plancha. Hardy rolled Punk in the ring and got back in Matt’s face. Punk tried for a baseball slide on Jeff, but he moved and Punk hit Matt in the stomach. Ouch. Jeff got in the ring and hit Twist of Fate. He followed with the Swanton, but Punk held his knees up. Punk covered, but Matt Hardy pulled the ref out of the ring.

Matt got in the ring and argued with Punk. Jeff rolled Punk up and Matt made the count for the win. Matt left quickly with Punk casing him. Punk stopped at the top of the ramp and ran back to assault Jeff Hardy. He spilled him to ringside and attacked with a chair. He put Jeff’s head in the chair and then slammed him into the turnbuckle. The paramedics came out and tended to Jeff as Punk walked up the ramp. A video recapped the assault.

Teddy Long came out and argued with Punk on the ramp. Punk said he wanted a rematch because Matt counted the pin fall. Long said fine, you’ll get it at SummerSlam, but it will be Jeff Hardy style, tables, ladders, and chairs. Long went to check on Jeff and Punk complained on the ramp to end the show

Hardy Wins Title Match Against Morrison, Attacked by CM Punk After Match

Hardy Wins Title Match Against Morrison, Attacked by CM Punk After Match

WWE Smackdown
July 31, 2009
Baltimore, MD
Report by: Mike Tedesco of WrestleView.com

Start of Show
We open the show up with a video recap of the World Heavyweight Championship Match at Night of Champions. If you haven’t heard by now, Jeff Hardy shocked the world and defeated CM Punk for the championship. This was a well done video package.

Justin Roberts now introduces the new World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy, who comes out to a tremendous applause. Jim Ross and Todd Grisham welcome us to the show. Tonight Jeff Hardy will make his first World Heavyweight Title defense against John Morrison. They show exclusive footage from after Night of Champions, when CM Punk shook the new champion’s hand as a sign of respect.

Hardy says if this is a dream then don’t wake him up because he’s just chillin’ in the imag-i-nation, kicking it Jeff Hardy style, the new World Heavyweight Champion. Hardy says he’s not dreaming. Hardy thanks all the outcasts, rejects, freaks, and all the people who stood with him through thick and thin, and always believed in what he stands for.

Hardy mentions that before Night of Champions, CM Punk said some pretty rotten things to him and the audience. Hardy says that we’re all with him in just saying “no” to being force fed his point of view. The fact is if everyone in the world was just like CM Punk, it’d be a boring world. They’re both different, and that’s why this life is cool. The only thing Hardy is high on is being World Heavyweight Champion for us. Hardy says he was born a free spirit and has beat to his own drum ever since. He’s human, we’re human, and we have the god given right to live life the way we choose, and be who we want to be.

Hardy says Teddy Long has given CM Punk his rematch anytime he wants it against whoever is the champion at that current time. The reason he brings that up is his opponent tonight is one of the most talented guys he’s ever been in the ring with. He shines like no other and that man is John Morrison. Hardy says last time his title reign was way too short and he doesn’t plan on that happening again. Hardy knows he’s in for a fight and warns Baltimore to be ready. Morrison has beaten CM Punk twice and we might be in for one of the most breathtaking, amazing, death-defying main events in Smackdown history! Hardy thanks the crowd.
